I showered first, then came downstairs to make dinner. I had printed a recipe for chicken parm off Bettycrocker.com, but UNFORTUNATELY, we had no poultry in the house. No fear, there was one more linguisa sausage link left: I cut it in half (one half for each girl), and stuffed the halfs with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then grilled them on the George Foreman. For vegetables, I sauteed garlic, onions, red pepper and cabbage with oregano, cumin and Brazilian salt. Mmmmmmm. With our homemade bread, this dinner won raved reviews. Brie and I ate together--by candle light! How sweet!
We then had dessert in-front of the--I would say television, but in fact it was my laptop. Alright, back-up: Brie and I read these books called The Confessions of Georgia Nicholson by Louise Rennison, and apparently it was made into a movie in the UK, but hasn't been released in the States. So of course I'm on the last one of the books published, Brie's read all of them, like, 3 times through (okay, that's an exaggeration, but she's re-read most of them multiple times), so we're dying to see this movie.... And Brie found it on UTube! So we started it (didn't finish since it was a school night) and it's really good so far.
Anywho--dessert! Okay, Brie's was hot banana bread topped with Ben and Jerry's Strawberry Shortcake, and also their Cherry Garcia ice-cream, whipped cream and fresh strawberries. I topped my hot banana bread with Breyer's All Natural Coffee ice-cream, a dab of yogurt, whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate chips. OH MY LORD was that a bit of heaven in a bowl.
Honestly, I recommend it.
Cheers!
