Finishing the Blog

With a new year beginning, I've decided to end my blog. This blog detailed my family's growth throughout my high school career and a bit past that. That's great, but now I'm moving on and tying loose ends. It's time to buckle down and focus on what I want to do, and I'm going to do more with my tumblr account:

so check it out!

Thanks for listening to me whine and contemplate and I hope you make your life a wonderful one!

Sister reunion love

So. It has been a full week since Sabrina and Mother returned to the states, and Brie and I were wondering what to eat for breakfast. (At eleven a.m. I slept for fifteen straight hours, by the way!) I wanted to make cheese quesadillas. Brie wanted to make muffins. So she did. And then I turned the Food Network on and we saw Tyler from Tyler's Ultimate making whipped cream for his banana pie thing. So then I decided to make whipped cream. It was genius. We put them together. YUM. It was a great breakfast :D

Oh. Brie had too much batter, so we made a small muffin "pan"-cake. :D

Don't Eat Corn

I just finished watching the documentary King Korn. The state of Iowa produces enough corn to feed the entire United States population alone. Diabetes has increased in the country because of the over-production of cheap sugar---high fructose corn syrup. The corn industry is growing because of government subsidizing. There is corn in the beef we eat: cattle are fed grain (corn), which does not agree with their digestive systems. 70% of America's antibiotics are given to cattle.

Dear America,

STOP SUBSIDIZING CORN!

WE WANT GRASS-FED BEEF!

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IS THE ENEMY!

We are fat because we eat corn.

Random Suggestions of the Day

Give your girlfriend a stuffed-pokemon after you haven't seen her for a month. Preferably a Charmander.

Try vanilla soy ice-cream. It's delicious. Put it in your punch.

Don't try to understand the opposite sex. It isn't possible.

Look up the new Food Environment Atlas! Brought to you by Michelle Obama :)

Smile.

Book Review: Julie and Julia

So this past summer a movie starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams came out named after its book origin. Julie Powel, author of said book and played by Amy Adams, is blatantly hilarious. Her success derives from the entertainment she produces by being so incredibly frank, you feel like her best friend. I gulped up the whole book over the course of this weekend (a record for my high-school career, I'd say, as far as pleasure reading goes...) and honestly, I realize I miss cooking. If you haven't noticed, my posts have been short and spread out, and hardly about endeavours within the kitchen. Suddenly, I am inspired and have a terrifying fancy to purchase and utilize large quantities of butter...
