A Snowy Saturday

Oh boy! What a busy day in the kitchen. The crock-pot was finally put into use for the first time today. We used this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robin-miller/slow-cooker-parmesan-sage-pork-loin-watercress-salad-sliced-pears-goat-cheese-toasted-pine-nuts-recipe/index.html minus the carrots and we used red wine instead of sherry. We didn't make the specific salad that goes along with the Robin Miller recipe, either. Anyway, I got the pork seasoned and so forth this morning and got it in the slow-cooker by 1pm. We had the meal around 8ish and it was delicious! The pork was so tender... yum. We had a nice, big salad as well, and Portuguese rolls. Then I had my favorite dessert, something which all you avid readers should know :D
After dinner we made dolce de leiche (brazilian fudge), but we cooked the milk and sugar too long, so the consistency became too crumbly. Oh well, it will be a scrumptious ice-cream topping!!!

The snow kept coming down today. I shoveled twice, and my efforts have been re-layered, still. More snow is on the way for tomorrow. Looks like we're definitely in for a white Christmas!
