Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! what a great way to hit off a blog on turkey day, eh? yeah, I thought so. I got the idea from taking pictures of our family this evening at our thanksgiving dinner and how it would be really cool for my/our friends/family see these pictures and stuff without me having to send them online or print them and stuff. and it's cool to see what we're up to, right? because we're pretty feisty and fun!!!! as far as turkey day went, it was BUNDLES of fun.
nov 27th 2008 RECAP:
we woke up around 11 and breakfast was fend for yourself. mom put the coffee on. dad and david had bagels.
the cofer girls first baking endeavor of turkey day::
7 Layers-- mom found a different strategy for assembling the bars, and it was really beneficial. they stuck together a lot better. the trick? we put the condensed milk on top of the graham cracker crumbs instead of adding it at the end.
after that: we made the pumpkin cheesecake, baked the potatoes, got the vegetables ready for roasting, put the spaghetti squash in the oven, made whipped cream, mom did something with the turkey... uh, I don't particularly remember everything in chronological order. but mom and I ate some meatloaf for lunch and Sabrina finished off the banana bread I'd made for Amy's party (she had the other half for breakfast. she is now officially called "Banana Breath").
meanwhile.... dad and david were rakin' some leaves outside....
eventually it was around 3:30 and mom and I began to watch Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". (So far, so good). At 5 we began our showers.
appetizers: 6:30 (prosciutto wrapped in mozzarella, cheddar extra sharp, Gorgonzola, crackers, white wine) and dad did some video-recording
AND THEN WE DUG INTO THE FEAST:::
turkey; roasted: red and green peppers, onions, eggplant and butternut squash; sweet potatoes with melted marsh mellows on top; grapes; cranberry sauce; 7 layer cookies; pumpkin cheesecake; (homemade) whipped cream; coffee......... oh man, we're all so stuffed.
it was really fun.
now we're watching old home videos and the Kid Rock special on VH1. the old home videos make me wish becca and george we're up here, too. or just more family in general. I miss everyone :'(
all-in-all: a wonderful day.
now, as for hitting that gym in the morning...

Great idea, fiesty Cofer girls!
Loved the food displays and descriptions. And photos especially the one of Bobby with his mouth open like a seal for food! Dave looked almost regal in the comfortable chair and I can hear him tell his dad, "you can," wash the dishes and then laugh.
This makes us want to join you guys one turkey day if you just didn't live in VT! ho, ho.
Send us more of the fiesty Cofer girls' festivities. Love, devotion, hugs, kisses, etc. Becca
