So. We'd been to Garlic John's a few years back, and, well, we hadn't had the best meal ever. But we decided to give it another try last night: David's last night here with us in VT. Unfortunately, GJ did not exceed our expectations. And to be honest, it didn't really meet them, either. My mother would say, "Oh! The oil!" And it's true. Everyone's dish had a pool on the bottom of their plate (Except David who had Marinara). My sister got sick at 4 this morning from her pesto. I couldn't really handle the dressing on my salad. One thing that was legitimately yummy was my mother's stuffed salmon. Yet, the OIL stuck out at us, and sorry John, but it has scared us away. Indefinitely.
Besides the dinner, it was nice to have David come visit for Thanksgiving. My sources tell me he left at noon today (I was at Amy's house). Hopefully he will come back next year. Maybe George and Becca could come, too? I know the snow and 30 degree weather is a very frightening thing, but we can fight it with wool sweaters and lots of homemade soup TOGETHER!!!! :)
Just think about it.... <3
